4 Simple Steps to My Night Time Skin Routine

I’ve had a few people ask me what I use on my skin, and so I thought what better than to write a post about it. A night time routine is really important when maintaining good skin, as you should never sleep with makeup or dirty skin, and make up wipes just don’t always suffice. I know this routine and these products won’t be great for everyone, but it’s what works best for me.

Step 1: If I’ve been wearing a lot of eye makeup, I start by using Garnier Micellar Cleansing water for sensitive skin to remove the heavy parts. It works really well as a makeup remover, but I personally don’t feel that it cleanses my skin enough, which is why I follow with a cleanser.

Step 2: When I’m at mine I use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish with a muslin cloth to remove the left over bits of makeup and the Muslim cloth helps to clear out the skin. It’s best used with hot water. I have quite sensitive skin that is easily irritated, but I’ve never had any problems with any of the Liz Earle products, and it makes my skin feel extremely soft. When I stay at Billys I use the Clinique Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser for Dry Combination to Normal Skin, which is great for when my skin is feeling a little oily. However, I do feel like it dries my skin a little if I use it a few nights in a row.

Step 3: Every so often I like to really treat myself and use a face mask. My current favourites are the Lush Mask of Magnanimity, and the Sephora Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying. Both are paste like and you leave on until dry. Afterwards my skin just feels so rejuvenated, but like all face masks, I expect a surface of spots for a day or two after.

Step 4: After washing off the face mask, I use the Superdrug own Vitamin E Night Cream, which makes sure my skin is nourished and super soft. It isn’t too heavy, and therefore doesn’t the clog the skin. I also use the Soap and Glory Speed Plump All-Day when I’m travelling about, as it’s a little bottle and really light-weight. It is recommended to use a toner before moisturiser, but before bed I feel like it makes my skin a little too tight, so I’d much rather just use it in the morning.

I hope this helps with anyone wanting to try some new products or adapt their own routine!
